Chaz Rainey, JD/MBA

Chaz Rainey manages an expansive practice, with experience spanning numerous industries and practice areas.

As a trial-level litigator, Chaz has successfully brought and defended dozens of cases in both state and federal court. As an appellate lawyer, Chaz has argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Nevada Supreme Court.  In his international practice, Chaz has advised clients on issues of international commerce, brokered multi-million dollar contracts, and worked to resolve large-scale disputes between American investors and foreign sovereign entities.   His transactional practice includes businesses in such industries as entertainment, gaming, aviation, manufacturing, hospitality, telephony, finance, health and beauty, agriculture, professional sports, real estate, charitable non-profits and international trade.

Chaz began his legal career as the in-house legal counsel to Lucky’s race and sports books, a consolidated operator of race and sports book gaming facilities, with locations throughout Nevada.  Chaz helped guide the company from a simple idea into a fully-financed, multi-million dollar operation, with over a dozen licensed gaming locations throughout the State of Nevada.  Lucky’s was just recently purchased from an international gaming conglomerate for more than $15 million.

Since leaving his position with Lucky’s, Chaz has embraced a diverse practice in business law, helping dozens of other companies flourish in this harsh economic environment.   Chaz’ clients include an array of businesses, ranging in size from small, single-location shops to large-scale international importers of finished goods.

While in law school, Chaz served as a legal extern in the Washington, D.C. office of then Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid. He also served as a summer associate for the internationally known law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. While in his third year of law school, Chaz clerked for a general practice attorney based in the Las Vegas Valley, where he gained exposure to a wide range of litigation matters, including contract disputes, workers compensation claims, and personal injury. Upon graduating from law school, Chaz accepted a position with the startup gaming company Brandywine Bookmaking, where he directly assisted the company’s President and CEO in developing the venture from a simple concept to a licensed multi-million dollar gaming operation.

Chaz earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with highest honors.
